The Paragon is very much a school that looks out to the wider world and one of the ways we do this is through our study of a modern language. From Reception onwards, all children learn French and from Year 3 they have two lessons a week. Lessons are taught by a native French speaker. In the early years the emphasis is on having fun and familiarising children with the new sounds through games, songs and stories while older children learn to read and write in the language.

In Year 6, children get the chance to practise their French and enjoy real pain au chocolat with a visit to France. Our end of year French plays are also a highlight on the school calendar.
