Joyful Noise choir meet Michael Morpurgo

On Sunday 9th December, The Paragon sponsored a magical event at Bath Pavilion.

'The Snowman', originally illustrated by Ramond Briggs and now retold as a story by Michael Morpurgo, was hosted by Bath Children's Literature Festival at Bath Pavilion which drew an audience of over 700 parents and children.

'Joyful Noise' were excited to perform 'Walking in the Air' onstage along with other carols, and were delighted to meet the acclaimed author during a soundcheck before the event began. The choir had their photograph taken with Mr Morpurgo and he chatted with them about their school, and shook hands with Mrs Kettlety, and then Iris Rostom and Joshua Frere from Year 6 bravely introduced the event.

Robin Shaw, Head Illustrator for The Snowman and Snowdog, also illustrated Michael's story, and he delighted the audience with a Snowman draw-along, showing techniques that he employed to draw the much loved character and gave tips on how to draw snow! Michael then read aloud to the audience and answered questions from children.

What an exciting opportunity for The Paragon. Pre-Prep held a 'Snowman Day' to celebrate the occasion in this final week before the Christmas holiday.
