Paragon Bake Off raises £247!

Three pupils in Year 5, had the brilliant idea to organise their very own Bake Off inspired event.

The children organised the whole event themselves and invited pupils in Years 3 to 6 to bake and ice their own cupcakes or cookies and to bring them into school to be judged.

The number and standard of entries overwhelmed us and it was decided that the best way to pick the winners for each year group and an overall winner was to sample every cake! Along with the three Year 5 pupils, Year 5 class teacher Miss Barnes and Head of Pre-Prep, Mrs James, were involved in sampling all the cakes. A tough job, but someone had to do it!

The year group winners were awarded certificates and the overall winners were presented with certificates and prizes in front of the rest of the school in Prep assembly.

At the end of the school day, the pupils held a cake bake sale to sell off the cakes, with all proceeds from the sale going towards the school’s charity, Save the Elephants. We are sure that once word reaches Save the Elephants of our latest fundraiser, they will be thrilled to hear that The Paragon’s Bake Off competition and subsequent bake sale raised an impressive £247.96!

We are really proud of Ava, Eliza and Iris for coming up with such a great fundraising idea and putting in a lot of hard work to ensure so many children entered cakes and in turn helped to raise a huge amount for the school’s charity. Well done girls!
