To broaden their study of France, Year 6 had an exciting workshop on the Napoleonic Wars this month.
They are studying France this term and to broaden the pupils’ experience of the subject they had an exciting workshop. Delivered by The School Workshop People, the children had the opportunity to handle a huge range of artefacts to understand the life of the soldiers and their families during the period.
The workshop looked at:
* A soldier’s life
* Home Life
* Battle tactics: comparing British and French approaches
It was an exciting ‘hand-on’ exploration of life during Napoleonic Times –the soldiers, their wives and their leaders too. The drill and battle tactics session in the afternoon was especially memorable with the musket fire drawing plenty of onlookers.
