As part of Year 5’s History topic on Bath’s industrial past, Year 5 spent the morning at the Museum of Bath at Work.
The Museum of Bath at Work is home to the reconstructed engineering and soft drinks factory of Victorian businessman Jonathan Bowler. All the children had a guided tour of the Bowler factory and had the opportunity to handle historical objects and get up close to working machinery from the period.
Also our children had the chance to dress up in traditional costumes and role play different jobs from the factory. It was a really educational visit and all the pupils learnt a huge amount. They also had a sneak preview to the Victorians – next term’s topic!
A fascinating day out!
