This afternoon, the school has been alive with happy students trying brand new maths challenges. Lower Six pupils from Prior Park College set up a Maths Circus in the classrooms and a Treasure Hunt in the grounds for Paragon Year 4. It has been delightful to watch the two age groups working so well together.
On their return from Study Leave and their AS examinations, the Lower Six pupils have created a series of games for the 8 and 9 year olds to challenge their Maths skills. Today was the day they tested out their games.
4S and 4H responded with enormous enthusiasm. "It's cool and fun." said Elysia. Ben enjoyed the smarties game (tally charts, fractions and percentages on the different colours in the box). Jemima, Molly and Hannah were very proud that they managed to bisect a circle to make 11 spaces.
Mrs Parker, Maths Teacher at PPC commented: "The Prior students are pleased to have this opportunity and have been very enthusiastic in their planning."
Year 4 Teacher, Mr Hinde said: "The resources are exciting and well appreciated. This is a fun way of accessing Maths and the quality of the Lower Six work is very good."
