The Paragon School Parents' and Teachers' Team

What is the Paragon Parents' and Teachers’ Team?
The Paragon Parents' and Teachers’ Team is a group representing parents and teachers at the school. All current parents and teachers are entitled, and encouraged, to attend our meetings. We are always delighted to welcome anyone whether on a regular or occasional attendance basis.

Our aims are:

• To create a social atmosphere and encourage goodwill amongst parents, children and supporters of the school.
• To raise funds to benefit the school and school life, and give donations to charity.
• To act as a conduit to the school management for ideas and feedback from parents.

What do we do?
The PPTT aims to organise events which excite the school community and allow the maximum participation from all.

Our fundraising events include:

• Children's Discos
• Summer Fete and Barbeque
• Christmas Bazaar
• Quiz Night
• Ice Skating (new event in 2010 jointly run with Prior Park College Parents’ Association)
• Easter Egg Hunt (new in 2010)
• Paragon Christmas Ball (new in 2010)

The team is eager to introduce further new events and has lots of exciting ideas for the future.

Funds raised via events have, in recent years, contributed towards the following:

• The adventure playground
• Minibuses
• Nursery playhouse
• Trikes and bikes
• Computers
• Musical instruments
• CD players
• Pottery kiln (to be installed in 2010)

We also produce the bi-termly parents' newsletter "The Paragraph". To send news items for
inclusion to this newsletter please email it to the editor at theparagraph@hotmail.co.uk

Joining the Paragon Parents’ and Teachers’ Team is a great way of meeting parents and teachers from different year groups and getting to know the school. The team meets formally twice a term, normally in a pub, and we try to make meetings, and our events, fun and interesting.
