The Paragon School Parents' Newsletter: July 2010
Notes from the PPTT
Firstly, a huge thanks to all the class reps for this year. Your help is very much appreciated and certainly does not go unnoticed. .
New Class Reps We already have a few class reps but will need several more for next year. The roles of the class rep are:
1. To come to the PPTT meetings and be a voice for your year or class – there are usually 2 meetings per term
2. To help the committee with social events and fund raising events for the school
3. To provide the rest of the class with a contact details sheet with email addresses, phone numbers etc on (often can easily be provided by the previous class rep)
4. To hold or organise any coffee mornings or end of term socials for the class or year
If you would like to become a class rep please contact Jules Lowrie juleslowrie@hotmail.com or your current class rep.

2010 Events
We have had great success this with our money raising efforts (even when we have not wanted to sometimes!) with the following results:
Ice Skating: At the wonderful ice skating event this year in February we raised £873.84 from our first joint event with Prior Park.
Children Disco: We raised £245.30 during our usual frantic evening of music and funky dance moves!
Summer Fete : At the summer fete this year we raised in the region of £1000. Many thanks to all those volunteers who helped to make these events such a success, special thanks go to Vicki Bunn and Andrew Bell for their help with the summer fete.
Banglo Party:Even though we didn’t want to we managed to raise £40! More importantly a fun, relaxed evening with no clearing up by anyone!
Cake Stall :The donuts and coffee are proving to be profitable as well as massively popular, so thanks to everyone who has helped raise £305 this year by making all our lives more fun on a Thursday.
Second Hand Uniform Shop Thanks to the dedicated work of Ann Marie Mitchell we have banked £318 during this calendar year alone. Many Thanks!

Spring Term
There will be a Valentines ball in the Spring Term as Prior Park is unfortunately not available in the Autumn Term. Tickets will cost £48 per person and this will include a 3-course dinner and a Champagne reception. There will 12 tables of 10 available and tickets will be sold on a first come first serve basis. You do not need to organise a whole table, though you are welcome to do so if you wish, and tickets will be on sale early next term.
The Valentine’s Ball will be our major fund raising event for the year and we intend to raise money both for a specific project for the school and a chosen charity. To help us do this we will be holding an auction. If you’d like to get involved by donating something we are interested in unique items or services that we could put in the auction. We’re also particularly interested in those of you who have holiday homes who’d be kind enough donate a week’s use.
If you have anything you’d like to offer for the auction please contact Huw Bunn. Any other queries or offers of help in running the Ball please contact Jules Lowrie.
In the meantime, have a wonderful summer break. See you next term. Jules Lowrie, PPTT Chair
