A celebration of The Queen's Platinum Jubilee

A celebration of The Queen's Platinum Jubilee

The sun shone for us today as we celebrated The Queen's Platinum Jubilee as a whole school! Our wonderful catering team provided a delicious BBQ lunch which we ate in a street party style, surrounded by bunting and streamers, and everyone wore their finest red white and blue apparel.

Each class held a traditional afternoon tea on the lawn and Year 1 pupils wore the beautiful woodland crowns for their Teddy Bears' Picnic which they had created earlier in the week in Art with Miss Hucks. Reception invited parents into school for cucumber sandwiches and cupcakes, and performed a jubilee dance.

Year 6 were whisked off to Bath University to spend the afternoon taking part in an Olympic sports event organised by Mr Goodman (sprinting, Fencing and Beach Volleyball) from elite coaches such as Olympic Champion Jason Gardener and Olympic bronze medallist Kate Allenby.

A perfect way to finish a busy half term, and to mark the 70 year anniversary of Elizabeth II.
