Also known as the 'Mooncake Festival', this annual event is celebrated in Chinese and Vietnamese communities around the world. It is the second most important Chinese holiday after Chinese New Year with a history dating back 3,000 years, when China's emperors worshipped the moon for bountiful harvests.
The children learnt about Jade Rabbit, a cultural symbol for the festival. According to legend, the hardworking rabbit lives on the moon and can be seen pounding a pestle and mortar and is a symbol of selflessness, piety and sacrifice.
