Dare to Dream: Year 4 Take to the Stage

Dare to Dream: Year 4 Take to the Stage

Last week, the Paragon community was treated to a performance of Year 4’s annual play - this year titled Dare to Dream. Built around a clever premise, the story begins with a classroom history lesson that quickly goes off track when a group of children press a mysterious glowing button and find themselves transported back to Georgian Bath. What starts as a routine lesson soon becomes something far more memorable.

As the story unfolds, the children explore the city and meet a range of characters, from chimney sweeps and market workers to wealthy socialites. These encounters highlight the contrasts of the time and bring the period to life. Along the way, they also cross paths with notable thinkers and inventors, discovering how new ideas and determination helped shape the future.

A key figure in their journey is Lottie, a young dreamer whose outlook encourages the children to think differently. Through her, they begin to see that even small ideas can make a difference.

Before returning to the present day, the group reflect on what they have learned, particularly around fairness, opportunity and the importance of hearing different perspectives.

The performance was a strong example of the acting talent at The Paragon. It was wonderful to see how the year group came together, growing in confidence through the process of rehearsing and performing, and working collaboratively to bring the production to life.
