The Paragon School to become Prior Park Paragon as schools create a connected educational journey from age 3 to Sixth Form

The Paragon School to become Prior Park Paragon as schools create a connected educational journey from age 3 to Sixth Form

Prior Park Schools has today announced that, from September 2026, The Paragon School will become Prior Park Paragon, marking an exciting new chapter in the evolution of two of Bath’s leading independent schools.

The change reflects the increasingly close relationship between Prior Park Paragon and Prior Park College, which have been part of the same school family for more than twenty years. Together, the two schools will become a genuine through school, offering pupils a connected educational journey from age three through to Sixth Form across two distinctive campuses in Bath.

For families, this means a clearer and more seamless pathway through their child’s education. Pupils completing Year Six at Prior Park Paragon will no longer be required to sit the traditional 11+ entrance examination to progress to Year Seven at Prior Park College. Instead, they will benefit from a continuous journey within one school community, supported by shared values, expertise, and a commitment to knowing every child as an individual.

The evolution of the schools creates greater opportunities for pupils to benefit from the remarkable resources available across the Prior Park family. From sport and swimming through to science, art and drama, pupils at Prior Park Paragon benefit from access to outstanding facilities and expertise across the wider school community. These closer links will enable children to enjoy an even richer and more connected educational experience as they progress through the school.

As part of the longer-term development of our through-school model, plans are also underway to introduce a shared school uniform in the coming years. Designed to grow with pupils as they progress through the school, our new uniform will support a smoother transition between Prior Park Paragon and Prior Park College, while combining practicality with a shared sense of identity.

These developments represent the natural evolution of a relationship that has grown over the past two decades. They allow Prior Park Schools to make the most of the expertise, opportunities and facilities available across its schools, while preserving the warmth, care, and individual attention that families value.

While the name and visual identity of The Paragon School are evolving, its commitment to providing an exceptional education remains unchanged. Prior Park Paragon will continue to offer the nurturing environment, outstanding teaching, and strong sense of community that have always been at the heart of our school.

Malcolm Bond, Head of Prior Park Paragon, said:

"This is a hugely exciting moment for our school community. For many years, our pupils have benefited from the close relationship between Prior Park Paragon and Prior Park College, whether through shared activities, access to facilities, or the opportunity to experience the wider Prior Park family.

This next chapter allows us to build on those foundations and create an even stronger sense of connection and belonging for our pupils as they grow. They will continue to enjoy the individual care, encouragement, and opportunities that make Prior Park Paragon such a special place, while having an increasingly seamless pathway ahead of them through to Sixth Form.

At its heart, this is about giving our pupils the confidence to flourish at every stage of their education."
