Year 3 have been exploring Hinduism as part of their RE curriculum, immersing themselves in Indian culture and looking at themes such as music, festivals and spirituality.
3M created traditional Rangoli patterns using chalk, colourful symmetrical designs usually made from powder paint, which are placed in doorways to welcome in the Goddess Lakshmi.
3G practised drawing the 'Om' symbol, an important spiritual sound within Hinduism, Yoga breathing and meditation, taking a moment to relax and unwind.
In a Philosophy lesson, pupils learned about the story of Rama and Sita, which explores themes such as good versus evil and the festival of Diwali. Afterwards, they were introduced to Hindu gods and goddesses such as Ganesh, having the opportunity to make their own creations of them using tissue paper and magazines.
An enjoyable and action - packed topic looking at one of the world's oldest religions.
