Year 4 enjoyed an action packed camping residential at Mill on the Brue last week - a welcome return to normality for both the activity centre, and for staff, children and parents at The Paragon.
Arriving in glorious sunshine, the classes launched straight into an afternoon of teambuilding activities: 'Save the River' and scaling the vertical wall, before settling down to stories around a campfire and reflecting on favourite parts of the day. A rather wet and windy couple of days ensued but that didn't stop the fun and enthusiasm of the children. Raft building and archery were favourites, not forgetting the Tower Jump for the bravest.
Trip leader Mr Hinde said 'We were bowled over by the personal triumphs and barriers that the children overcame during their time away - whether conquering a fear of heights, organising a tent, being brave if they were homesick or trying and failing an activity but not getting downhearted... that's what residentials are all about and they teach us so much about the pupils as well.'
