Year 6 Celebrate Their French Learning with a French Breakfast

Year 6 marked the end of their French learning at The Paragon by enjoying a traditional French breakfast together.

The children ordered their breakfast in French, confidently using the language they have developed during their time at school. The menu included croissants, pain au chocolat, orange juice and hot chocolate, giving everyone the chance to practise their speaking skills in a fun way.

As well as enjoying some delicious French treats, the pupils also learned about regional differences in France. They discovered that while many people call the chocolate-filled pastry a pain au chocolat, in parts of south-west France it is known as a chocolatine which also commands a higher price!

The breakfast was a lovely way to celebrate all that Year 6 have achieved in French and to reflect on the progress they have made over the years.
