Can it really be October half term already? Since September, The Paragon has been a hive of activity, with Year groups settling into their new classrooms and lots of new pupils to welcome. Exciting projects and topics are being explored, with recent trips to 'We The Curious', Bristol Aquarium, a walking tour of Bristol for Year 6, and a visit to the Bath in History museum for Year 5. Year 4 enjoyed a day of being Vikings as well as popping along to the Inter Schools Maths Quiz which was held at KES, and our Pre-School Squirrels were invited along to The Egg theatre to see a 'scratch' performance of their Early Years Christmas production 'Squirrel'.
The Prior Park Schools Biathlon was held on 12th October at Bath University with over 470 children from the Southwest in attendance. Athletes from years 5&6 entered - many achieving fantastic times.
In Art, Year 5 have been exploring the work of Australian artist Shaun Tan and Year 2 produced some wonderful intaglio prints to display on their classroom walls...meanwhile sewing club are creating some wonderful couture bunnies.
Fabulous sounds have been coming from the Music Lodge, where rehearsals have been taking place for a performance of 'Ahoy' at Prior Park College at the end of November, and the orchestra performed live for families arriving at school last week which was a real treat! And of course, on Friday 18th October, it was 'Ted's Big Day Out' - a local fundraising incentive by our Chosen Charity, The Forever Friends Appeal at the RUH. Schoolchildren all brought in their favourite ted, along with a donation and were very excited to meet 'Ted' who paid us a visit, and Mrs Braithwaite and Ms Perrin embarked upon a 24 hour Danceathon, and raised over £2000 for the charity!
Enjoy a well deserved break!
