'Big Ted' and the RUH Forever Friends Appeal fundraising team pay a visit

We were delighted and very excited to welcome 'Big Ted' the loveable mascot for the RUH Forever Friends appeal to our assembly this morning, along with Lauren, Laura and Jutz from the fundraising team. For the next academic year, The Paragon will be supporting the charity with PTA events, and fun fundraisers dreamed up by pupils at the school.

The charity funds projects that make a real difference to the lives of hundreds of thousands of patients cared for by the Royal United Hospitals as well as the friends and family who visit them. Typically, they fund new and additional equipment, research and innovations, as well as finishing touches and ‘extras’. Staff and children were shown the wonderful neonatal care unit which had been built from funds raised by the charity, and talked about a child called Henry who has cerebral palsy and has been receiving physiotherapy since the age of 11 months, who has received equipment to help with mobility, funded by the Friends.

We look forward to dreaming up our first fundraising activity!
