At the end of each academic year, the school hosts a summer celebration in a marquee at our senior school, Prior Park College.
This occasion brings pupils, parents, teachers and governors together to reflect on the year and to celebrate the talents of our children. Packed with performances, this year's theme was 'Africa' and we enjoyed participation from the youngest in Squirrels Pre-School through to our 11 year old Leavers in Year 6.
The audience was wowed by the musical and vocal talents that have developed over the past year. All of Year 2 performed 'Free Nelson Mandela' on recorders, Year 3 showed off their talents on Ukelele, and Year 4 sang 'Zimbole', an African folksong with percussion accompaniment. Year 5 peformed scenes from The Lion King and Year 6, The Circle of Life - an emotional finale for their time in junior school. The African Drumming Club, Samba Band and Orchestra played throughout the morning creating a wonderful summer atmosphere.
Leavers joined parents and teachers on the steps to the mansion at Prior Park College and then families picnicked on the lawn before saying goodbye for another year. We wish a fond farewell to Year 6 who will be starting their exciting secondary school adventures in September, and we also wish Mrs Guest, Miss Roberts and Mr Dunne the very best of luck in their future endeavours.
