On Friday 18th October, our very own Mrs Braithwaite and Ms Perrin will be dancing through the day and night as they embark upon an epic 24 hour Danceathon to raise money for the Royal United Hospitals Forever Friends Appeal - The Paragon school charity. The day coincides with 'Ted's Big Day Out', a region- wide fundraising event for schools and other youth groups to raise money and awareness, and we are delighted that Ted will be paying the school a visit during the course of the day.
The charity funds projects that make a real difference to the lives of hundreds of thousands of patients cared for by the Royal United Hospitals as well as the friends and family who visit them. Typically, they fund new and additional equipment, research and innovations, as well as finishing touches and ‘extras’. Projects range from funding a wonderful neonatal care unit, to toothbrushes for paediatrics and equipment to help with mobility for an eleven year old boy who has cerebral palsy.
In the spirit of the school, many of their colleagues have rallied behind them and are generously sparing an hour of their time to provide moral support, whether by moving and grooving alongside them, cheerleading, being personal chefs, or helping with physio and sports psychology!
