Paragon pupils sing out at 02 'Young Voices'

On Thursday, after weeks of rehearsing the lyrics and dance-moves to 10 songs, a team of staff took 30 children to the London 02 arena to take part in a Young Voices concert.  This annual event - which was the brain-child of acclaimed UK conductor, David Lawrence - has been running for 24 years and Mrs Kettlety was intrigued to see what all the fuss was about!

After a sunny picnic, watching the cable-car go over the Thames, the afternoon rehearsals got underway in the arena. The Paragon was lucky enough to have first-row seats so had a great view of the stage, the band and the amazing singers and dancers. The children were thrilled to see dance group Urban Strides and to sing along with country group, The Shires, and winner of The Voice 2018, Ruti. Teachers were more excited to see Tony Hadley and had to explain who Spandau Ballet was!  The concert was extraordinary; 8000 children, all wearing their Young Voices t-shirts, all singing in harmony with top-quality, professional musicians, to a sold-out 02 audience.  The Paragon children were all amazing and, despite the 1.15am arrival back in Bath, it was definitely a day of memory-making!
