Spring Concert at The Paragon

It was standing room only at last night's wonderful Spring Concert, where parents, grandparents and teachers were treated to performances from the rapidly growing number of musicians and singers at The Paragon.

The Samba Band opened the evening with Samba Reggae, followed by the orchestra who played Elgar's Pomp and Circumstance, and Rondeau from Abdelazer by Purcell. The String group performed Waterfall and Hills and Dales, and the Brass Group - Land of my Fathers by J. James.

The audience were wowed by the various choirs that all brought something so different to the stage - 'Sing Out' is a parent and child choir and they sang Castle on a Cloud from Les Miserables, as well as The Bear Necessities from Jungle Book, and nobody could believe just how many boys had joined the newly formed 'Boys don't Sing' choir! Their fabulous performance of Believer by Imagine Dragons brought the house down. 'Tuesday Choir' sang Flashlight from the film Pitch Perfect 2, and 'Joyful Noise' sang A Spoonful of Sugar from Mary Poppins for which they won a trophy at the recent Mid-Somerset Festival.

It was a lovely evening and a great showcase of talent. Thank you to Mrs Kettlety for being such a musical inspiration to the children!
